The Met Office has extended its thunderstorm warning as Nottinghamshire braces itself for possible flooding and disruption. The national weather service recently issued a yellow weather warning for Saturday, September 9, from 2pm until 9pm, covering the entirety of Nottinghamshire.
Forecasters said: "A few heavy showers and thunderstorms are possible, perhaps leading to some disruption." The weather experts updated the Saturday forecast to include all of neighbouring county Lincolnshire and parts of Yorkshire. The yellow weather alert also extends to Sunday, September 10, from 2pm to midnight, in some parts of the country - but this will not include any parts of Nottinghamshire. The Met Office has warned sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions or road closures and that there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services due to flooding or lighting strikes.
