After a freezing and icy start to the week, people should expect a lovely temperature boost around the same time that Storm Babet comes to an end later tonight
The good news comes as Storm Babet takes over the country today with it expected to last until 8PM in parts of the country.
Wednesday, 18 October Outbreaks of heavy rain today with some flooding likely. Rain will be especially heavy in southern coastal counties during the morning with a heightened risk of flooding and disruption there. Highest temperatures of 12 to 16 degrees, in a moderate to fresh and gusty east to southeast wind, easing in southern areas later.
Thursday, 19 October Thursday will see a mix of dry spells and showers; some showers may be heavy locally. Whilst it will be mostly cloudy some bright or sunny spells will develop. Maximum temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees in a moderate southeasterly breeze. Friday, 20 October Further showers or spells of rain on Friday, heavy in places with the chance of spot flooding. Maximum temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees with moderate easterly breezes but fresh northerly breezes on the west coast. On Friday night, there will be scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle with the best chance for prolonged dry spells in the east of the country. Minimum temperatures generally ranging 7 to 10 degrees.
