The annual Merry and Bright Holiday Light Festival is back at the Memorial University Botanical Garden from Dec. 1-22 and Dec. 27-29. FileST. JOHN'S, N.L. — The Memorial University Botanical Garden will be lit up for the holidays again this year for the sixth annual Merry and Bright Holiday Light Festival.
During the event, the Postmaster’s Garden Café will be selling hot chocolate and chocolate chip cookies, and volunteers will keep the bonfire burning. Preparations for the event begin each year in early October, as it takes around eight weeks to hang over 100,000 lights and set up the displays.
