Mercedes-Benz is about to expand its electric vehicle line-up in Malaysia with AMG versions of its high-end EQS and EQS models. The AMG EQS 53 with Dynamic Plus package boasts 761hp and 1020Nm of torque.
are currently the highest-end models within the all-electric Mercedes-EQ family in Malaysia. However, they will soon be surpassed by an even more powerful version of themselves in the form of Mercedes-AMG EQS and EQE.. While the existing EQS and EQE models in Malaysia may already come with some AMG elements, the Mercedes-AMG variants push things further with AMG-specific implementations including the drive system, suspension, brakes, and sound.
The usable amount of energy from the EQS 53 4MATIC+ battery is said to be 107.8kWh which is almost identical to the EQS 500 4MATIC. Given its high-performance nature though, the AMG-tuned version has a slightly lower WLTP distance range of between 526 to 580km as opposed to its Malaysian CKD counterpart which has a rated range of up to 696km.
While the EQE 350+ is able to deliver an output of 215kW and 565Nm of torque, the EQE 53 4MATIC+ output is much high at a whopping 460kW alongside a maximum torque of 950Nm. These figures can be increased to 505kW and 1000Nm, respectively through the AMG Dynamic Plus Package. When it comes to battery and charging capability, the Mercedes-AMG EQE models are generally the same as their non-AMG counterparts. The battery on both EQE versions has 90.6kW of usable energy and they have been equipped with an 11kW on-board AC charger although customers in certain markets can opt for the 22kW option.
