"Compounding that issue, I understand they had also been drinking prior to going in, so really stupid decision to these two lads," he said.On Tuesday, the state governmentAssistant Police Commissioner Ian Parrott said the men almost got into trouble on the river. As well as being cautioned, Assistant Commissioner Parrott said the men were provided with education on river safety.
"There are so many hazards out there that people don't understand and the river flow is so high and people don't understand it, hence the reason that we have a really strong education focus first in relation to this issue.The two young men are the only people to have been cautioned since the ban came into effect.Posted
