Hussin yang memintanya menghentikan daripada memainkan sentimen melibatkan perkauman, sebaliknya beliau hanya menyuarakan peruntukan dalam Perlembagaan. Sementara itu, Dr. Mahathir mendakwa Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim terpaksa mengikut manifesto DAP yang ingin menjadikan Malaysia sebagai negara berbagai kaum dan agama rasmi Islam digantikan dengan sekular.
