Melbourne lord mayoral candidates Nick Reece, Arron Wood, Roxane Ingleton and Anthony Koutoufides debate their policies ahead of the election.
Melbourne lord mayoral debate LIVE updates: Candidates go head-to-head ahead of Victorian council electionsI’m a small business owner ... in the City of Melbourne. A long-time resident in Kensington. Melbourne’s a great city. But it’s got some challenges. It’s not talking down the city to talk about those challenges. What we’re saying is that we’ve got some things to work on. We can’t have four more years of the same. We do need a change. A fresh start at Town Hall.
Melbourne is the best and fairest city in the world. I have a plan to make it even better. I live in Carlton with my wife and three kids. I barrack for Carlton football club. We’re really part of Melbourne. When I became Lord Mayor a few months ago, it was the absolute honour of my life. I haven’t wasted a day since.“One of the first things I did was ban e-scooters to make our footpaths safe again. I also introduced new cleaning contracts to help clean up our city.
As mentioned earlier, your ballots need to be in the mail by 6pm this Friday – but there is a week allowed for those ballots to reach the VEC until noon the following Friday .We are likely to hear a lot of promises from the lord mayoral candidates over the course of this one hour debate.
