A Japanese man purchased a life\u002Dsize, custom\u002Dmade and hyperrealistic dog costume, and is now producing videos of his life as an animal
A recent video, which has gone viral on social media, shows Toco taking his first steps outside in the costume. He is greeted and petted by a woman who acts as his owner, waves to people with his paw, rolls on the floor, and meets other dogs that seem to be intrigued by his presence.
In the comments, people were divided into those who think that the costume was realistic and well-made, and those who just thought the whole situation was too weird. “Toco’s dedication to realism and willingness to spend the money has really done him right, plus a very wonderful, understanding ‘traditionally normal looking’ human makes him very approachable,” wrote user @0therun1t21, referencing the woman who took Toco for a walk. “More power to you both, and I hope Toco is very happy and treated well by everyone with treats!”Toco’s channel is full of videos of him as a dog, starting from a year ago.
Despite being seen by millions of people around the world through his YouTube channel, Toco revealed in the video released a year ago that he was reluctant to go out in public as a dog and to tell people close to him about his dream. “In the first place, I only told people who are really close to me. For example, if I told people I work with that I wanted to be an animal and I became a collie, they would look at me funny, wouldn’t they?” he wrote. “I felt a bit of inferiority complex about it, so I rarely talk about it with others. If anyone notices who I am, please don’t tell anyone around me!”In its description, Toco explained that the video was shot last year by a German TV station, RTL News Redaktion.
