House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy’s speakership bid failed a fourth time on Wednesday — leaving the conference in limbo — after 20 Republicans voted for Rep. Byron Donalds .McCarthy’s defeat comes hours after former President Trump urged Republicans to back him. Rep. Victoria Spartz , who voted for McCarthy three times on Tuesday, voted present Wednesday during a fourth round of voting.
