MBS has rubbished claims of corruption in the awarding of trading lots at the Dataran Senawang 1, 2 and 3 Aidilfitri bazaar.
Mayor Datuk Masri Razali said irresponsible netizens had made the allegations on social media and this had been reported to the authorities.
“MBS had initially offered 248 hawker lots to the organisers picked during a session attended, among others, by four local councillors, representatives from the police and Rela as well as the top management of the council. “The number of lots was later increased by another 104 following a re-measurement exercise,” he said, adding that this was done after certain restrictions were lifted by the National Security Council, the Local Government Development and Health ministries.Masri said MBS had reported the matter to the police, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission for further action.
Masri also asked those with information on wrongdoing by MBS staff members to report it to the council by calling its Integrity Unit at 06-765 4650 or via its Public Complaint Management System at mbseremban.spab. gov.my.
