The government launched its major public consultation but the online suggestion box has already descended into chaos

A "maximum BMI for nurses" and an " NHS TV channel" are among the suggestions put forward by the public after it was asked for ideas on the future of the health service. Hundreds of ideas were submitted in the hours following the national consultation's official launch by ministers on Monday.

Another proposed that all secondary school students should be provided with free energy drinks. “As we all know, back in my day milk was given to kids to help improve their bone structure and teeth,” the suggestion reads. On Monday, NHS England's national medical director Professor Sir Stephen Powis looked back on previous engagement activities while speaking to Sky News. He remembered the infamous public poll incident which led to Boaty McBoatface being the popular choice for a polar research ship that was ultimately named RRS Sir David Attenborough instead.
