Perdana Menteri Anwar Ibrahim ketika mengusulkan pemilihan itu di Dewan Rakyat turut menamakan Wong Shu Qi sebagai naib pengerusi.Usul itu diterima sebulat suara oleh Ahli Dewan Rakyat. Pelantikan itu sebagai meneruskan amalan lantikan pengerusi PAC dalam kalangan Ahli Parlimen pembangkang seperti dalam pentadbiran kerajaan terdahulu, yang mana jawatan berkenaan terdahulu disandang Kah Woh daripada PH.
