KOTA KINABALU: Students getting married or earning a living are among some of the reasons 984 candidates in Sabah did not sit for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia examination in 2023.

Nurani Fauziah, who read the results on behalf of Sabah State Education Department director Datuk Raisin Saidin, said a total of 38,800 candidates registered for the 2023 SPM examination but only 34,142 candidates attended and sat for at least one subject.
