The Tigers, who scored two late third-period goals to record a 5-3 win in Summerside on Dec. 3, have won four of five head-to-head matchups with the Caps, the defending Maritime Junior Hockey League champions. The Tigers improved to 14-6-3-1 . The Caps take a 14-7-0-0 mark into a road game against the Miramichi Timberwolves on Dec. 4.Before 1,038 fans at the Island Petroleum Energy Centre, the Tigers led 1-0 after one period and built a 3-0 advantage before taking a 3-1 cushion into the second intermission.Emilie Tremblay scored at 16:01 to regain the lead for the Tigers, and Alexander MacKenzie-Ede sealed the win with an empty-net goal at 19:08.
Jadon Reimer , Justin David and Connor Richard also scored for the Tigers. Jake Kyle , Austin Arsenault of Richmond, P.E.I., Ethan Dollemont and Nick Dyson contributed assists.Tigers goaltender Olivier Leclair turned in his second 40-save performance of the season against the Capitals. In five games against Summerside, Leclair has stopped 161 of 178 shots. Brandon Abbot made 28 saves for the Caps, who outshot the Tigers 43-32.
