Marcos was personally invited by Thai Chargé d’ Affaires Thawat Sumitmo to the APEC Summit to be held on November 18 to 19. According to the Marcos' office, the Thailand government invited him during the courtesy call of ASEAN Ambassadors last June 6. Thailand will host this year's APEC Summit with the aim to focus on the importance of facilitating the resumption of safe and convenient cross-border travel to hasten the region's economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
