Marcos tells Harris: PH-US ties now more important.
Citing the rapidly changing geopolitical climate in the region, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. said that the relationship between the Philippines and the United States is now more critical and must evolve to address the situation properly.Marcos said this as he welcomed US Vice President Kamala Harris to Malacañang on Monday, November 21. Harris is on a three-day Working Visit to the Philippines from November 20 to 22, 2022.
“Your visit is a very strong symbol that these relationships remain strong, that these relationships remain important, as indeed, they do,” he said. “The situation is rapidly changing. We must evolve to be properly responsive to that situation,” he said.
