DAVOS, Switzerland: President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. said the Philippines' relationship with the United States must 'evolve' to respond properly to the 'other forces that are coming out,' especially around the South China Sea.Marcos made the statement as he acknowledged the over century ties between the Philippines and the US, which he said, 'has evolved in very many ways.
In terms of let's say cross-trade tensions, we are at the very frontline,' Marcos said.'We are watching as bystanders. If something goes wrong here, we are going to suffer. And that's why the -- when asked what is your foreign policy and how would you describe it, I say, it's a commitment to peace and a very -- very, very close and guided very, very closely by our national interest as I mentioned before,' he added.
