President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ordered the reorganization of the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions to strengthen the country's export promotion.The CITEM is a government-owned and -controlled corporation of the Department of Trade of Industry.

“There is a need to revisit and strengthen the organizational structure of CITEM to ensure an integrated approach in export marketing towards attaining the objective of reinforcing the country’s posture as a leading producer of quality export products and services,” the EO read.The CITEM Board’s vice chairperson and executive director will be elected from among its ranks.
