President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos led the first-ever turnover of housing units under the Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program to overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos on Tuesday led the first-ever turnover of housing units under the Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program to overseas Filipino workers (OFWs). The five OFWs—Jeramie Leyno, Madeleine Anne Mallare, Ramon Mabiog, Fatima Tolentino and Rogelio Crisostomo—received the keys to their new homes at the Palayan City Township in Nueva Ecija.

The beneficiaries were processed and endorsed by the Palayan City local government unit, vetted by the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), and approved by the Home Development Mutual (Pag-IBIG) Fund. The turnover event, held at Malacañan Palace, marked the first successful delivery of units under the 4PH Program, which was launched in 2022. It followed a Joint Memorandum Circular, signed by the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development and the DMW in October, which indicates that OFWs can now access enhanced housing benefits through the 4PH Program. ‘Umpisa pa lamang po ito, hangad namin na mas marami pang OFWs ang makinabang sa 4PH bilang sukli ng gobyerno sa kanilang kabayanihan,’ DHSUD Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar said. Additionally, four more housing units under the 4PH program were raffled off to over 500 OFWs and their dependents who attended the event
