Philippine President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has signed the 2025 national budget into law, vetoing over PHP194 billion in line items deemed not aligned with his administration's priorities. Marcos emphasized the need for prudence in spending, stressing the importance of curating and scrutinizing the budget to avoid increasing deficits and debt. While the final budget reflects the administration's priorities, Marcos acknowledged the need for further scrutiny to ensure every centavo benefits the Filipino people. He mentioned concerns raised by the public regarding budget allocations and stated that the Executive Branch is united with the people in addressing these concerns.
MANILA – Gipirmahan ni Presidente Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. niadtong Lunes ang balaod sa 2025 national budget ug gi-veto ang kapin sa P194 billion sa line items nga iyang giisip nga dili uyon sa mga prayoridad sa iyang administrasyon.
