It's not just for fun; it's an opportunity for our filmmakers to showcase Filipino talent!' she said.
As a proponent of the Philippine Creative Industries Development Act (RA 11904), Marcos has been developing creative industries that aim to create jobs, protect workers, and open up more opportunities for artists and creators.Another of her initiatives to strengthen the creative industry is the Young Creatives Challenge (YC2), which she launched in collaboration with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).YC2 features seven categories: songwriting, screenwriting, playwriting, graphic novels, animation, game development and online content creation.The grand prize is P1 million.As the former director general of the Experimental Cinema of the Philippines (ECP), Marcos recently commemorated the iconic film 'Himala' at the Pandesal Forum.She recalled the contributions of national artists Ishmael Bernal, Ricky Lee and Nora Aunor to the iconic 1982 film.'Himala' achieved worldwide acclaim and was recognized as the Best Asia-Pacific Film of All Time by CNN at the 2008 Asia Pacific Screen Awards.'Himala is not just Elsa's story; it is the story of every Filipino. Despite the trials, faith and hope persist,' Marcos said.'This is not just a movie; it symbolizes our strength and courage as a nation. Let's support our local filmmakers and take pride in authentic Filipino stories — stories of life, hope, faith, and unity,' she said
