PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has accepted the resignation from service of 18 third-level police officers following the recommendation of the National Police Commission (Napolcom)...

Marcos, in his second State of the Nation Address on Monday, July 24, said he would be accepting the resignation of “unscrupulous law enforcers and others involved in the highly nefarious drug trade.”

The operation has sparked an investigation not only by the Napolcom Ad Hoc Advisory Group but also of the Senate. At least 953 police officers submitted their courtesy resignations, but the advisory group recommended the non-acceptance of 935 courtesy resignations. The remaining 18 were those of the above-mentioned officers.
