KUALA LUMPUR: Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) will do its utmost to ensure that the three sons of the late Asst Supt Zulkifli Mamat – who was killed during a clash with Sulu terrorists at Kampung Tandou, Lahad Datu – get their full education.
Mara chairman Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki said this was in line with the commitment given by Mara 10 years ago."Some 10 years ago, many parties – including Mara – offered assistance to the three children when the time came," he told a press conference at Mara headquarters after meeting Nooraizah and the three boys on Tuesday .
He said Mara would assist the three boys, including for the enrolment in learning institutions under them. "The children were still very young then. The eldest, Akib, was five years old but he's in Form 3 now."I told Akib to monitor the Mara website and when the MRSM intake opens in September, to remind his mother to make the application and we will give it serious consideration," he said."They should make full use of the opportunity by studying hard.
"I am thankful to Mara and I hope the children will honour the sacrifice of their late father. I hope they will achieve success in their studies until university," she said. She was met after a pantomime on the Lahad Datu tragedy performed during the Police Day celebration at the Police Training Centre on Monday .
