PETALING JAYA: Many parties ask for commission payments from government agencies, including the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), when providing services to the government, says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

During his monthly meeting with PMO staff in Putrajaya on Monday , the Prime Minister expressed hope that all those concerned would make an effort to stop this unhealthy practice for good.

"This habit of asking for commission payments from government agencies is still being practised and it involves PMO as well."We have to be clean and transparent when dealing with people to attract and increase investor confidence in our country," he said. Anwar said it might take time to clean up this long-standing habit but said it would be easy once everyone buys into a clean image.Article type: free
