Seniors from Dauphin, Man., were on a minibus taking a day trip to the Sand Hills Casino, 190 kilometres south, when the fiery crash occurred on June 15.
They were just minutes from the casino when, according to dashcam footage viewed by police, the bus drove into the path of a transport truck heading east on the Trans-Canada Highway.The 25 people on the bus, including the driver, were from Dauphin and the surrounding area.
They were remembered as beloved grandparents, mothers, fathers and siblings. Many were active in their tight-knit community more than 300 kilometres northwest of Winnipeg.Shared Health, the provincial health authority, said on Tuesday that two patients injured in the crash had been discharged from hospital. As of Sunday, spokesman Kevin Engstrom said seven patients remained in hospital, none of whom were in intensive care.
