MANILA -- Manila Mayor Isko Moreno said his government would spend P12 million to upgrade daycare centers and increase the allowance of its personnel.
Manila’s daycare workers’ monthly stipend will be increased to P9,000 from the P7,000, Moreno said during a meeting with the City School Board.
Around 400 daycare workers are expected to benefit from the adjustment, which will take effect in October, he said. "Tingin ko pag napabuti natin katayuan ng mga nagtuturo, we will have a better community later on kasi ang pundasyon nasa loob ng paaralan bukod sa loob ng bahay,” he said.
