MANCHESTER: Manchester United said today they are “taking seriously” domestic abuse allegations made against winger Antony.
“Manchester United acknowledges the allegations made against Antony and notes that the police are conducting enquiries,” United said in a statement. The denial came after Brazilian press reports published WhatsApp messages, reputedly between Antony and Cavallin, in which the player allegedly threatens his ex-partner.The former Ajax player said his relationship with Cavallin was “tumultuous, with verbal abuse on both sides”.United are under pressure to act as the case comes hot on the heels of the club’s decision to part ways with Mason Greenwood.
