The man used a camera hidden inside a clock to record women undressing in a fitting room secretly.
Police arrested Andrew Hong, 31, on Saturday after SFPD Special Victims Unit investigators served a search warrant at his home and the related business, said authorities, who added that evidence was seized during the search. Hong was arrested on six misdemeanor charges of invasion of privacy.
In November, investigators began looking into reports of recordings at the cleaners, which is on the 1100 block of Divisadero Street near Turk Street, after a woman who had visited the business for alterations reported that there may have been a discreet camera masking as a clock inside the dressing room where she changed, according to authorities.
San Francisco investigators soon found that five other victims had filed police reports detailing similar experiences with a male employee at the shop who placed a clock inside the fitting rooms, constantly adjusting it throughout the fittings. "All the victims expressed concern that the employee was requesting that they undress for their clothes to be altered while being recorded," San Francisco police said in a news release. – San Francisco Chronicle/Tribune News Service
