Argument between two drivers escalated over allegations of erratic driving on Shelbourne Street Wednesday night
An argument between two drivers over allegations of erratic driving on Shelbourne Street Wednesday night escalated into one brandishing a knife and bear spray at the other in a parking lot.
Saanich police had to break up the argument after being called at 9:20 p.m. to the 3700-block of Shelbourne Street. A 50-year-old man was arrested for possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He was later released on the conditions that he have no contact with the other man and not possess any restricted or prohibited weapons. He is due to appear in court in November.
“We urge all drivers and residents not to confront others if they have driving concerns,” said Det. Sgt. Damian Kowalewich. “We have a dedicated traffic-safety unit who are prepared to investigate traffic matters and who are ready to assist when needed.”
