A 28-year-old man stabbed at Auburn train station minutes earlier in stable condition in hospital
A man who threatened officers with a knife at a westernThe man arrived at Auburn police station just after midnight on Tuesday morning and was shot after he threatened officers with the knife, according toOfficers performed first aid on the man until paramedics arrived and he was taken to Westmead hospital, where he died a short time later.
The man is yet to be formally identified but police believe he was involved in the stabbing of a 28-year-old man minutes earlier at Auburn train station. Police said he stabbed the cleaner in the arm before slashing him across the hip. “The cleaner was just going about his duties,” he told reporters. “He just happened to be the first person who was inside the turnstiles and was set upon without motive.”
The man who was stabbed was also treated by paramedics and taken to Westmead hospital, where he was in a stable condition.
