Cardinal George Pell leaves behind an “incredible legacy” as a “man of the people” and someone who stood up for his faith and its orthodoxies, Sky News host James Morrow says.
Australia’s most senior Catholic died aged 81 in Rome on Tuesday after suffering an unexpected heart attack.
Mr Morrow said Cardinal Pell’s death leaves a “great hole” in the intellectual and spiritual life of Australia. “While thankfully most of us will never see the inside of a jail cell, much less be locked up in one for more than 400 days on horrible charges of which we are innocent, we can also follow his example,” he said.
