A man was arrested by the police in Caloocan City on Monday, Feb. 13, after he allegedly tried to blackmail his ex-girlfriend that he would expose her private videos online just to fix their relationship.
The Caloocan City Police Station identified the suspect as Christian Ancheta, 31, of Bagbaguin, Caloocan City.
Cpt. Santiago Roy, Northern District Anti-Cybercrime Team chief, said that the victim, Lourdes, 42, the suspect’s ex-girlfriend, sought their help after Ancheta threatened her that he would leak her private videos to her family and friends through Facebook if she will not meet with him to talk about their relationship.
Members of the NDACT and the CCPS arrested Ancheta in an entrapment operation at around 5 p.m. on Monday at the corner of 8th and 9th Avenues, Grace Park, Barangay 103 in the city, when the victim agreed to his demand. Recovered from the suspect were his cellphone, driver’s license, a police clearance identification card, a sim card, and P400 cash.
The suspect will be charged for violations of Republic Act 9995 , RA 9262 , and Articles 282 and 286 , police said.
