A man has been rushed to a trauma centre after a drive-by shooting Sunday morning in Schomberg, an hour north of Toronto.
York Regional Police said the incident happened at around 8:40 a.m. along Centre Street, between Rebellion Way and Church Street. Paramedics transported the 65-year-old victim to an area hospital with serious injuries from gunshot wounds. Police said they haven’t been able to confirm how many suspects attended the scene. A white SUV with tainted windows was seen fleeing west on Centre Street.
Officers from the District Criminal Investigation Bureau remain on the scene investigating and urge anyone with information or dash cam footage to come forward.
