Emergency services were called to the home on Highclere Avenue in Punchbowl at about 10pm on Saturday.
A man aged in his 50s has died after a unit fire in Sydney’s south-west.Emergency services arrived to find a unit alight.
“A 54-year-old man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics but died at the scene,” police said in a statement on Sunday. Firefighters extinguished the flames. A crime scene has been established and investigations have begun into its cause. Anyone with CCTV or information is urged to contact Bankstown police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
