A man has been found not guilty of murder by a judge in the NSW Supreme Court on Friday after skull fragments were found while he was on trial. 9News
on Friday of murdering Darren Royce Willis who went missing from Bingara, near Tamworth, in December 2010.Following reports to police from two men and recordings of intercepted telephone calls, Coss was charged with Willis' murder in October 2019.As his trial was adjourned, bone fragments later linked to Willis were found at the base of a waterfall.
Nor did the telephone conversations recording Coss denying involvement in Willis' disappearance and death. The evidence of the two men alleging Coss was responsible contained inconsistencies and evolved over time, including at trial, and he could not accept their evidence beyond reasonable doubt, the judge said.
Coss sat in the dock wearing jeans and a black shirt, leaning forward while listening as the judge detailed the reasons he was discharged on the indictment.Continue reading
