Manchester City news as Nottingham Forest points deduction inevitably puts attention back on 115 charges and next Premier League decision
Nottingham Forest have been hit with a four-point deduction for breaking the Premier League's profit and sustainability rules. This has pushed them into the relegation zone, just one point away from safety, as we head into the March international break.
Forest's deduction comes at a time when Manchester City are facing 115 charges over allegedly breaking league rules. It is claimed that City made over 100 breaches, having been referred to an independent panel in February for breaches between 2009 and 2018. In theory, the independent commission could impose a points deduction in the Premier League or even worse, expulsion from English football's top league. Other possible punishments include; stopping a club from playing league matches, suggesting that league matches be replayed, ordering compensation, cancelling or refusing registration of players, conditional punishment, or ordering the club to pay costs.
