THUNDER BAY — A 21-year-old man was arrested after brandishing a replica firearm and robbing a Beer Store.
Thunder Bay police said officers were called to the Edward Street North location just before 7 p.m. on Tuesday. Police said an employee was outside the store and asked a man loitering on the property to move along, when the man pointed the replica firearm at the employee. The employee went back into the store and attempted to lock the individual out, but he forced his way in and took store merchandise before fleeing on foot.
A short time later, a suspect was located in the Limbrick area. The man was taken into custody and brought to the police station. He is charged with robbery with violence, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, careless use of a firearm, pointing a firearm, mischief under $5,000, and failure to comply with a sentence.
