THUNDER BAY — City police have charged a 61-year-old man with firearms-related offences after a confrontation with another person.
Thunder Bay police said officers were sent to the area of the 100 block of Machar Avenue just after 6 p.m. Wednesday after receiving reports of a man pointing a firearm. Officers were provided with the identity of the suspect, and a vehicle description, while en route to the scene. Police said they also learned the firearm was a handgun and not believed to be a replica.
The suspect was found at a residential address on the 100 block of Machar Avenue at about 6:25 p.m. He was arrested by officers and taken into custody.The 61-year-old is charged with pointing a firearm, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, assault with a weapon, and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.
