An 80-year-old northern NSW resident says she was in the wrong place at the wrong time when she was allegedly hit by a van.
A 47-year-old Coutts Crossing man faced Grafton Local Court on Tuesday charged with 13 offences.An elderly woman says she was lucky not to have been killed after a "terrifying" driving incident on the New South Wales North Coast.
Police said the string of incidents began at 3pm on Monday when the man allegedly drove a van into a station wagon and sedan, both parked in the car park of a club at Wooli."I was in shock, I didn't know what on earth had been happening in this beautiful little place where life is normally quite pleasant and boring," he said.
Police allege the man deliberately swerved onto the wrong side of Grevillia Parade at Minnie Water towards two 48-year-old women before striking Ms Fuller as she stood on the nature strip. Police said the situation was brought to an end with a citizen's arrest of the man after he allegedly tried to force his way inside a Minnie Water shop on Sandon Road and was locked in a storeroom until officers arrived and arrested him.
