Two women have escaped with minor injuries after police say they were hit by a car driven by a 37-year-old male driver, who allegedly accelerated towards them at a pedestrian crossing.

Both women received minor injuries, as did the driver of a parked car that police say was also hit during the incident.Detectives from the domestic and family violence unit have charged the man with intending to cause serious harm, recklessly endangering serious harm and dangerous driving.NT Police Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Vanessa Barton said witnesses at the scene had provided information to police.
"The [alleged] actions of this driver are completely reprehensible and it was incredibly lucky that these two women were not more seriously injured," she said.
