Many are devastated that GSC Alamanda will be closing down this month. Here's what they have to say:
While this cinema company isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, many are still taken aback by the announcement that one of their outlets in Putrajaya will be closing down after 15 years of operations.Earlier this morning , Golden Screen Cinemas released a statement on their social media to announce that their outlet in Alamanda Shopping Centre, Putrajaya will cease operations later this month. According to the statement, the cinema outlet will be conducting their last screenings on 13th August.
It was mentioned that GSC Alamanda will be officially closed the following day after 15 years of operations. “We would like to express our heartfelt thanks for your unwavering support and patronage over the years. Your smiles, gasps, laughter, and applause will always echo in our hearts,” the company wrote. Those who live in or nearby Alamanda can still get to enjoy movies at GSC’s nearest outlets at IOI City Mall 1 and 2.
The cinema company did not specify the reason for the closure but we can assume that it’s probably due to the fact that Alamanda Shopping Centre is currently undergoing a major redevelopment and will be relaunched sometime next year in 2024. It was reported that construction had already commenced back in June.Netizens were saddened by the news and started reminiscing about their experiences of watching movies at GSC Alamanda in the comments sections.
