The system's ventilation method can reduce the risk of ammonia gas poisoning and fire, impressing international judges with its significant impact on disaster management and environmental control.
A team from the Integrated Residential School (SBPI) Temerloh, Pahang, has recently won a gold medal at the Taiwan Innotech Expo 2024 for an innovative ammonia leak detection and early warning system. Developed by the school team, the system also incorporates a ventilation method that can reduce the risk of ammonia gas poisoning, which can potentially cause death and fire, especially in industrial areas.
At the evaluation session held on October 17-19 at the Taiwan World Trade Centre in Taipei, the project impressed international judges with its innovative success and significant impact on disaster management and environmental control for industrial use. The team was led by Muhammad Darwisy Ammar, a fourth-year student, along with five of his peers. Their efforts were guided by their school teacher, Mohammad Izzwan Zahanuddin, who praised the students' hard work. The team outperformed nearly 1,100 projects from domestic and international participants representing industry, government agencies, research institutions, and educational institutions
