SEMPORNA: The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) and the Information Department (Japen) have launched the Info on Boat programme to disseminate information to the maritime community.
MMEA Deputy Director-General Mohd Norzam Mustapa said the programme is a new initiative to disseminate information on government policies and programmes to the local maritime community.“The collaboration between MMEA and Japen through the Info on Boat programme is the first strategic partnership between the two entities,” he said when officiating the Maritime Friends Programme in Kampung Pokas, near here.

“Info on Boat is a practical approach to disseminate information to the community, especially in areas involving islands and remote locations.“This strategic collaboration is a suitable approach to the communities living in islands and water villages. More than 500 residents from Kampung Pokas and the surrounding villages attended the programme filled with various activities such as Igal competitions, lucky draws, quizzes, outdoor movie shows, exhibitions and blood donation.
