PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Bar membership currently stands at approximately 21,570 members, says the Malaysian Bar chief executive officer Rajen Devaraj.
The Bar was a creature of statute established under the Advocates and Solicitors' Ordinance 1947 which was subsequently repealed by the Legal Profession Act 1976.
According to the Malaysian Bar website, each advocate and solicitor is automatically a member of the Malaysian Bar so long as he or she held a valid Practising Certificate.
