Prince Harry and Meghan Markle used the"Princess" title when they christened their daughter Lilibet in the United States on Friday, a spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex confirmed on Wednesday.
The Sussexes' children were given the right to the new titles following the death of Queen Elizabeth II in September, according to a Letters Patent issued by King George V in 1917.the palace was waiting for Harry and Meghan to take the lead by using the titles first. “In those months when I was pregnant, all around this same time, we have in tandem, the conversation of ‘He won't be given security, he's not going to be given a title,’ and also concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he's born,” Meghan said.
Archie was not given the prince title when he was born in 2019 as he is the great-grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II. People also revealed that while King Charles, Queen Consort Camilla, Prince William and Kate Middleton were all invited to Lilibet's christening, none of the four attended.
