Detectives and sniffer dogs were seen combing the Barragem do Arade reservoir near Silves with officers seen carrying several bags away from the search site.
The search for Maddie resumed at the Barragem do Arade reservoir near Silves on Tuesday, with police scouring the bank along the reservoir assisted by sniffer dogs.

According to the BBC, German state prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters told Germany's regional public broadcaster NDR they"have grounds to believe" they could find evidence in the area.
"They are not tips that come from the accused... but you can imagine that we don`t start searching somewhere in Portugal on the off chance, but that there must be a good reason for it," he said. There are reportedly four areas of interest with Portuguese police announcing on Monday that new searches will be carried out"in the next few days".
