A major rescue operation was put in motion on Monday evening after an incident was called in from Howth cliffs.

According to the Dublin Fire Brigade, they rushed to the scene along with the Irish Coast Guard, Paramedics, the RNLI, Air Ambulance and Gardaí to come to a person’s aid. In a post on Twitter, Dublin Fire Brigade confirmed the incident, and said: “Firefighters including an Advanced Paramedic were involved in the rescue of a person following a cliff fall in Howth.

“@IrishCoastGuard crews and helicopter, @RNLI, @AmbulanceNAS, Irish Rapid Community Response @CommunityAirAmb, @gardainfo came together for the multi-agency rescue”.There are no extremely steep or even dangerous passages on the Howth trail, and the chances of getting lost are “next to zero” according to reviews.

People have been taking to Twitter to thank the rescue services for coming to the person’s aid, with one person writing: “Amazing group of people, such challenging conditions .
