The half-a-billion-dollar boost will be divided up into $220 million for metro roads and $280 million for the regional network.
"So whether it is the city or bush, the larger the road network per local government area the more funding they will receive," he said. "This additional funding will help repair hundreds of thousands more, right across the state," he said.Councils have been working hard to fix the number of potholes but needed more funding.
