A moderate earthquake shook parts of northern Philippines on Monday, prompting no immediate reports of damage but raising concerns about potential aftershocks.
A magnitude 5.6 earthquake struck Burgos town, Ilocos Norte on Monday at 10:56:17 a.m. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported that while there was no expected damage, aftershocks might occur. Intensity 5 was felt in several towns across Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, and Cagayan. Intensity 4 was recorded in Abra and some areas of Ilocos Sur, while Intensity 3 was experienced in Abra, Mountain Province, Baguio, and La Union.
Intensity 2 was felt in Benguet, Ifugao, Mountain Province, La Union, and Cagayan, with Intensity 1 reported in a few towns in La Union
