A 4.9-magnitude earthquake jolted Ilocos Sur on Thursday morning, Nov. 24, said the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology .It said the earthquake was felt at Intensity IV in Sinait, Vigan City, Caoayan, San Juan, Santo Domingo, San Vicente, Santiago, Lidlida, Caoayan, Banayoyo, and Magsingal in Ilocos Sur, Batac City in Ilocos Norte, and Lagangilang in Abra.
The earthquake was tectonic, which means it was caused by the movement of an active fault near the area.
